Why won't my virtual CD work?

I managed to mount and install a game, but now it won’t let me play it. I used MagicISO to mount it, but I’m trying to open the game and it’s saying “insert CD” What do I need to do?

Answer #1

Maybe the game has a copy protect mechanism that will let you play it only with the original CD inserted? These copy protect mechanisms often work by writing non-standard “faulty” data onto the CD and the program then checks whether the “fault” is still there. Programs like MagicISO often even out those “faults”, because they think that it’s a scratch on the CD or a reading error.

Check whether your MagicISO program has a mode where it doesn’t even out read errors.

Answer #2

I don’t think it does.. is there anything else I can do?

Answer #3

Play the game with the original CD inserted or google for the name of your game + “rip CD” or “play without CD”… Maybe someone somewhere has done it and posted an instruction in some forum.

Answer #4

youll need a working crack most of which are within the file so you mount, open computer, right click the drive and select open and see if the crack is in teh crack folder.

if not i recommend you download teh “reloaded” crack.
