will my shih-tzu die

have a 2 year old shih tzu, weighs 6 pounds and is the size of I would say a 6 month old shih tzu pup, if shes lucky. she is very very tiny, I believe she is pregnant and if so , if anyone knows first hand what can I expect, will complications kill her, my wife is freaking out and we are concerned for the well being of our dog any response is appreciated

If you are worried you should have taken the precautions to make sure she didn’t get pregnant. SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS PEOPLE!

how big was the male she tied with? I work at a vet hospital and will answer anything I can for you. I have 4# chihuahua who had a litter from a 6# chihuhua, her first litter she had 3 pups on her own. Second litter she had 1 pup and we did a c-section on her, The best thing to do is to save money and have a good vet in place. when she is about 56 days into gestation have a x-ray done the doctor will mesure the pups and the pelvic area and see if she can pass them. if not you will need money to pay for a c-section, so to answer this honestly, There is always a chance you can loose a dog during pregnancy or labor if something goes wrong. Also is there any reason other then her being the runt that she is so tiny? Usually “teacup” the runt of a litter will have some health issues and should not be breed to pass on any bad genes
