Can you tell me how long a shih tzu is pregnant for and how many is normal for a first litter

60-63 days normally. when a shih-tzu give birth always get towels ready because they will arrive in cell membranes and sometimes dogs dont follow their natural instinkts and dont lick the cell membrane off if they dont just get towels ready and wipe the cell membrane off otherwise you could risk loosing the pups.

63 days, and if your shih tzu is expecting I hope you learn a lot more and have a vet already involved with your pets

ALL dogs…no matter what breed, are pregnant for 60 to 63 days…3 or 4 pups would be normal, but you should go to the Vet about half thru her pregnancy and have her ultra-sounded to see how many to expect.
