Ever wonder what' s going on with nature these days?

Do you ever wonder what’ s going on with nature these days? Why some much fires going on… Why so much floods going on? All I can say is … The last day as the bible talk about is around the corner.

Answer #1

From the accounts of the last days in the Bible, the breaking news today reads much the same - coincidence ?, we shall see.

Answer #2

Matthew 24:36-42

But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. Then two men will be in the field, one will be taken, the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill, one will be taken, and the other left. Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.

VS. 44. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

Answer #3

The only reason it seems like there are more natural disasters now is because we have instant and thorough media coverage of all of them, which did not exist 100, or even 50 years ago. The actual number of disasters, as always, is cyclical.

And the Bible does not make any specific prophecies about anything; as with all predictions, they are vague and therefore easily applicable to any situation. If someone says this event or person was prophesied, and they turn out to be wrong, the response is always, “well we just misinterpreted the prophecy…it still holds true.” Ever wonder how guys like Hal Lindsay make so much money, even though they’ve never been right about anything?

As filletofspam said, every generation of people has believed they were living in the end times, including all of the New Testament authors and early Christians. Their writing makes that abundantly clear.

Answer #4

“IN Noah’s day, they cried hooey… until the waters overcame them.”

That’s a fictional story. In the real world, when someone brainwashes a small group of people into following his crackpot ideas because he says the end is near, he ends up being exposed as a fraud…like Heaven’s Gate.

Answer #5

VS. 44. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

Right… so quit expecting it. Otherwise it’ll never happen…

Answer #6

IN Noah’s day, they cried hooey… until the waters overcame them.

Answer #7

lol, you couldn’t have offended anyone with what you said. im alway’s ranting about the end of days, not in a religious sense. but I agree with ya

Answer #8

I guess my point is not that clear… and you all sounds unhappy and disagreed … I don’t blame… because of that I would like to appologize for not making my point clear to what I really meant. I don’t mean to offend anyone. Again, I appologize.

Answer #9

That’s not a question…? And you realize that a majority of the visitee’s on this site are under the of 18, and why would you fill people’s heads with those kinds of thoughts. That’s just obnoxiously rude and mad arrogant. You feel that way and gotta pronounce go on opera, not FUN advice please.

Answer #10

jimahl: Zealots have been saying the rapture is just around the corner for years and years.

It has been longer than that. Jesus’ deciples expected his return during their lifetime.

There was such a frenzy of end-of-time predictions around 1000 CE that we still use the term millennialism to describe belief that the end-times are near.

I view end-time predictions as a sort of “going out of business” sale for religion. Quick, repent and convert while you can, all souls MUST go! Of course it is a sale that never seems to end.

Answer #11

“is the flood in the midwest a BRAINWASH? How about the FIRE on the WESTCOAST? What to you think about the people that losed their home and everything they have?”

First of all, I grew up mostly in southern California. We had to evacuate our homes because of wildfires a dozen times, and I personally know people who lost everything in the earthquake of 1989. I’ve also had to ration water because of drought. I don’t need to be lectured by you about how natural disaster can affect people.

Second of all, the brainwash part was a response to silverwings comment about the tale of Noah’s ark. It’s a fictional account, with absolutely no basis in reality. It has no bearing on current natural disasters in the world.

Anyway, natural disasters have been happening all throughout history. Several hundred years ago, an earthquake in China caused an enormous mound of clay to collapse. About 600,000 Chinese peasants had burrowed homes into the clay, and almost all of them died as a result of this. What about the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius? Or the asteroid at Tunguska? Or the earthquake in Tokyo? Or the fires in London, Rome, and Moscow?

The notion that we are experiencing more natural disasters in recent times, and that this is a sign of the end times is absurd.

Answer #12

If that’s what you think then either God lied or the bible is just simply rong about god not ending the world with water again man is destoying the world & mother nature’s p*ssed global warming o-zone’s being destroyed the arctic glazers melted down only to 24% last year de-forestation think all of what man has done to this plannet might have an effect?

Answer #13

captinassassin… I sure tried to make a point … but I guess it was not that cllear with some people.

Answer #14

The frequency of natural disasters is not much different than it’s ever been. What’s changed is population density, and our ability to know what’s going on.

Answer #15

Hey mjax 1979, is the flood in the midwest a BRAINWASH? How about the FIRE on the WESTCOAST? What to you think about the people that losed their home and everything they have? You know… in my opinion, to own a house doesn’t happen over the night. It takes time to have and own a house. I am speaking from exprience here. But, if you are a rich person, this doen’t apply to you.

Answer #16

…or at all.

Answer #17

…were you making a point?

Answer #18
