Why does my mom ignore me and we hardly talk to each other while my stepdad does nothing but play video games all day?

your mother is stressed out right now. give her some time to think. she may not look or seem like she is stressed out, but on the inside, she is. plan a date in where your stepfather will not be there, or call your mother when she is alone or ask her to speak to you for a moment. and maybe ask her when she will be alone or available to have alone time with you. than when you guys do have alone time, than just talk to her calmly about how you feel. even taking her for a nice dinner would make her feel relaxed and she will feel that you really care about her and trying to settle things with the family. hopefully this will work!
