Why Does God get the credit?

I don’t understand why when something goes well, or is in good favor, God gets the credit. Why people say “Oh, thank God” or “Bless HIM”. Then, on the other hand, when something doesn’t go well, or one’s prayers aren’t answered, they say “Oh well, your faith isn’t strong enough” or “Someone in this prayer group isn’t praying “hard” enough. I’m not against God, nor do believe in a single “Supreme” individual. I just don’t understand why leaving things to fate, or accepting coincidences for what they are without needing any explanation, isn’t something more people are able to do.

90% of the population believes in a god of some kind. 80% believe in a god that intervenes in the affairs of humans in a positive way.

If you start with such high percentages who have preconceptions of an interfering deity, it’s natural that they will give that deity credit fro the things they like.

Answer #4

Its part of the illusion that is god. I read and saw something kinda about that that talks about payers and I bet I will get flamed for this but it was

God answers prayers in 3 ways, Yes, wait, and no. And that’s one hell of an illusion. If you pray and it happens your like well god answered, if you pray and nothing happens then but in 6 weeks something happens well god answered it just took a while (wait) or nothing happens and god decided you do not need it, so you keep praying. But really if you think about that its a huge trick, god never answered any prayers it just seems he answers a few because if you pray for money, and you get a raise, you seem to have got the money you pray for. I know I am not explaining as good as the thing I saw did. The reason people say god bless when good happens is they think it was god and god decided they needed what they got, and if they do not get in there minds its, well I must not have needed or asked for it well enough god decided to say no. But why would a all powerful being decide to say no to something you want?… Look up in google, the best optical illusion in the world, and its a youtube video with the thumb nail of a gallon of milk and some text, you may find it interesting…

Good question, but when we fail in life we are supposed to praise G-d just as if he had helped us. Because in failures G-d is still teaching us. It is our goal to try and live in righteousness, so we try to recognize G-d in ever aspect of our lives. G-d bless.

Answer #6

I wonder this aswell. Because we are capable of runing our own bodies by decisions and choices we make we think we should be thanked not god right? I always wonder about it too. And about prayering and thanking before meals. We work for money to buy food… god didnt magically place it infront of us. its confusing.

Answer #7

Look around at the many blessings in your Life…that’s why He gets the credit - His mercy and amazing grace - He is Worthy !! - God is given credit because those people recognize and acknowledge what He has done in their lives personally, very often a total change in their circumstances and outlook in Life - This promise alone is why I give Him credit and owe my all: John 3 : 16 - His answer to prayer can be: no, yes, or not yet…remember His time is not our time nor His thoughts, our thoughts…He definitely has and controls ‘the big picture’…Take care !!

Answer #8

I mean you cant just stand there and not move and everthing that happends is just a god given blessing. You got to go out and do things for your self, It says in the bible god gave us freewill so bacicly we are the ones who control what we are.

Answer #9

I believe the bible, when it says that we are fearfully and wonderfully made, in the image of our creator.

I believe that same creator, created a spot within each of us, that belongs only to him, that he is the only one who can fill it, and that we were created to live by faith, and that is why so many actually do, live by faith.
