Why do girls like makeup?

Well…because we like to look pretty. Not that we’re not pretty to begin with but more that we like to enhance our features. I don’t cake on anything…usually just eyeliner and mascara. But yea…thats like the only reason I can think of.

because some of us are too ugly without it. I love mascara and foundation, and concealer, and lip gloss and… and… and… lol, but I dont wear it all the time, and im never completley plastic.

Everyday make up is a must for me. I just love it. Just be feminine mostly. It does help enhance and bring out your features a lot. I think most females are about beauty and cleanliness Its just our nature I guess.

I love to wear make up because I am actually pretty horrifying without it. Even though my fiance says im not. x.x But yeah eye shadow, mascara and foundation. :]

girls like make up because it covers there freckles and zits and any blimishes and red spots anything it will cover it makes your skin look clear but at the end of the day you have to take it off so you dont brake out.

Because the type of makeup can really define YOU :)

It can help cover pimples, define certain facial features, AND make us stand out more.

For me it started with having crap skin sooo… I covered it up. Then I realized I could make my eyes look better too, not just my skin! So then came the eye make up! And it just when on and on until I used every kind imaginable.

We like things organized and stuff, and that includes our appearance. Tying in with make up. At first all I wore was mascara. Now I use more than mascara.

Its not that one thinks they look ugly but they just want to look nice. Some people do look nice with out make up. But its just a girl thing. :]

I think girls are wired to care about appearances and cleanliness like we do with children when we have them women like to take care of things, some try to make everything perfect some don’t and make-up just makes something look pretty sometimes

I love makeup, because it hides my face. Well, I feel like it does. Going out without a face of mascara, eyeliner, powder, lipgloss, lipstick, eyeshadow, whatever, is like a crime to me. I just dont like people to see the Real Me.

not every girl wears make up and loves makeup and you proved that by saying that you dont wear or like it…

Make up is intended to enhance beauty..not create it… so girls dont wear make up because they think they are ugly… maybe some do but makeup isnt magic…

I think most people like to enhance certain features..like eye lashes and lips and cheekbones..

I started out like the person above me. My Mom bought me this special make-up that covered up pimples but it looked like I had mud on my face.

Now that I’m in my fiftys, I need it for dark places around my eyes and for wrinkles and brown spots (old age)

I think girls wear it for the same reason I did, because I thought I looked a lot better with it on.but most girls don’t really need it. They just think they do. It’s when you get old that you really need it…mostly concealer though, lol.

I’m not a huge fan of make-up, mainly because I think it’s way too much work, and just something I’m not good at, but most girls look nicer with makeup, it enhances their features… Just like a nice cut in clothing, nice shoes or jewlery do… Nothing wrong with making yourself look more attractive, it doesnt make a person fake or mean they’re hiding their true self…

well I wear make up everyday because I think it makes me luk better and I feel more confident with it on,I have really rosey cheeks and I hate them,I luv putting on make up and experimenting with it,but theres nothing worse then when sum girls who put make up on and end up luking like a clown,blending in yur eyeshadow and foundation is sooo important

ok well 1st of all not all girls wear makeup also though a lot of people have acne even before they start wearing makeup and there using foundation and powders and stuff to cover most of it also people look really plain and bear and sometimes sick when they dont have mascara and eyeliner on, so that makes them look more awake and just better looking also, my friend has scars and she wears makeup to cover it up plus most people look better with makeup on also not all makeup causes you to get zits a lot of them actually can help it and the mothers arnt forsing the daughters to wear makeup if they want to wear makeup than thell do it themselves lol plus im sure ull start wearing makeup one day to ull see I was like that when I was younger I was like these girls are fake blah blah but I grew up and im wearing it now to theres nothing wronge with makeup

I wear make-up everyday because I want 2, and I just LOVE make-up…we dont feel ugly or whatever ok! if your asking that WHY DO you LIKE WEARING MASCARRA, huh? exactly, we do it because we want 2 not because we have 2

I like makeup because it gives me the confidace (I cant spell soz) to be the person that I like myself being the person that can smile at a guy if I thnk hes cute I could so not do that if I didnt feel that I looked nice!!

do you wear a bra? most women do , because for one for me the only reasons I wear one is to make my boobs look better. just as I wear make-up, to make my skin look more radiant and eyelashes darker, and lips more shiny. its not that big of a deal. I think everything is ok in moderation. if you cake on the foundation, yah…thats a little much. oh, and if you eat right and wash your makeup off every night, you wont break out from wearing it…educate yourself on that…

Make up doesnt give you pimples or any type of skin problems if you wash your face and take care of it! (: I wear makeup because I enjoy doing it, it looks cool, and its a form of expression(: I can go WITHOUT make up, but I prefer to wear makeup just to show who I am in the form of my style. Well once you place make up on your face, once you take it off, you’re automatically missing something. And makeup, can bring more color to your face, it’s able to match with your skin color and makes you look nice and clean. Unless you use too much… -_-

I liek make up because to me its fun. its like an art… like im painting a beautiful masterpiece but tis on my body. it doesnt make you any prettier, it jsut simply enhances your features. and its a way of expresssing yourself in tons of cool ways, like using eyeshadow

Uhm, yeah… makeup is truly a form of self-expression, its an awesome way to show people how you’re feeling, thats what I do atleast! Its really fun. Make up will only make you break out if you don’t properly care for your skin… there are plenty of medicated foundation, creams etc that actually help sanitize the face and keep it clean throughout the day. Ha… thats a good answer from nixx… good use of logic :D

Well first off, if you feel so strongly about the make up thing. QUIT USING MASCARA and saying you like it and all. You asking this question why not ask yourself why you like mascara.

Because it lengthen your lashes and make them more thick bold and beautiful right? Well same to make up. They enhance everyone’s look.

And not all make up destroys skin. You’re speaking of foundation and powder.

But eyeliner and eyeshadows really don’t do any harm. Mascara does if anything because when you wash them out, sometimes your lashes goes along with it.

Well first off make-up doesn’t give you pimples unless you don’t wash your face. Most girls use make-up to enhance they’re beautiful feautures and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. Make-up is also considered an art, so when a girl has tons of make-up on (like scene or emo girls) its her way of expressing herself… her own form of art. and boys sometimes where make-up too.

Why not? Guys like to shave sometimes. If they didn’t ever shave they would look like amish. Haha. Sometimes people like to “clean” up or we’d look like a bunch of cave men. Haha, don’t get me wrong many people look fine without makeup and having beards but some just prefer to wear it. I wear makeup almost all the time, but I also enjoy putting it on and getting compliments sometimes is nice too! =] It’s just a part of todays life.

Make up is like magic. Every girl “usually” loves it.

The wonderful thing about makeup is, you can do an all out make over or you can just enhance certain features and look fabulous.

I have make-up down to the art of where I can wear a ton of it and look like I’m hardly wearing any. Lazy days I go with out it. I’ve always had a “pretty face” so I feel confident without it.

I’m going into high school and I’ve only worn make-up two times!! Once for a dance contest and again for a different dance contest.

well that is a good question but I always wear make up. like whenever I go ANYWHERE I have to wear make up. some girls think they look better with it. and girls just like to wear it because they might have low self-esteem. that’s why my bestfriend wears it.

I wear it 2 enhance my eyes however I think a lot of people are skipping the other perpus of makeup which is 2 downplay flaws. Frankly I think you are over reacting makeup has been with us for hundreds of years and I don’t think it makes us fake. In fact I believe makeup tells you a lot about the wearer. Also a lot of people start off like you I used to only wear chapstick then I started wearing mascara. I’m not fake because I wear and I’m not hiding in it. Frankly I odnt really have a lot of self essteem issues so I’m not sure you are going off on the right inantimate object
