How can the police do this?

alright, well the police got a complaint that my friend was reckless driving. so they came to his house. Then they went into his garage and I guess they smelled weed. then they went into his house and they were searching and found a ashtray that had like weed in it. and now he has to go through all this stuff.

hysterical, asking to be mature is EXACTLY as telling someone to grow up**

I beg to differ, the implications of growing up stretch into different branches. I’m not sure if you know that but what exactly does being neglectful, resentful, and chlidish going to be beneficial for anyone? I don’t seem to understand why growing up is a problem, I know adults that still retain child like behavior but they know how to be rational. Do explain to me this, I’m curious here.

Answer #2

yeah I totally agree gigi, and he isn’t on probation. they pretty much just walked into his garage. it is pretty lame. and hysterical, I am not going to grow up for one. I’m still only a kid. she didn’t answer my question, so why even bother commenting on it? like really, that doesn’t make sense.

Answer #3

spongeeexbob,

That was extremely rude and uncalled for, consider how you reply to people that are in fact helping you. What she is saying is true and you’re being irrationally stubborn to not accept it. Not every answer you’re going to get is going to be sugar coated for your own personal benefit. If you don’t like it then that’s your problem and you need to grow up.

Answer #4

they can only search if they have a warrant or if you are on probation. on probation they can search any time they feel. it sucks how they can do this kind of stuff.

Answer #5

They can’t do that.

They need a warrant for a search, they can’t just go into your house and search as they please. They may have found weed but they can’t use any of that in court since they didn’t have a warrant for searching.

Answer #6

ugh, I hate cops, how is it that they can go inside his house.. after the fact?? it’s stupid and they need to move on.. he made it home safely.. that’s good, they never see the good of things and always look at the bad.

Answer #7

Where is all this ‘’they need a warrant’’ nonsense coming from?

If you let officers into your home, you have (dramatic music) given them permission to look at things. They only need a warrant if you refuse to let them enter your premises. From the sound of the original question, the reckless driver willingly let the police into his garage, so if he had drugs lying about, he has only himself to blame.

Answer #8

Only reason you hate cops is because you cant get away with your sh!t :) ^

What IF he hadn’t made it home safe? What if he had killed innocent people because of HIS immaturity?

We have rules for a REASON.

If you him or anyone else doesnt like it, feel free to move to a different country, but I can assure you the rules will probably be the same because rules are here for OUR SAFETY.

If he cant drive properly he shouldnt be driving at all. Theres MILLIONS of people on the freeways, streets, roads, that DONT deserve to die because of some druggie :)

Answer #9

If they have Probable Cause they can enter without a warrant.

Answer #10

spongeeexbob, it does suck and all but unless you have proof, can’t do anythin then sorrry…

Answer #11

If he told you that cops just walked into his home, he’s not telling you the truth.

Answer #12

he didn’t let them into his house they just walked in.
