when I read bible it appears that jesus and solomon are clashing with each other.jesus christ talks about everlasting life whereas solomon says ther is nothing after death.solomon says death erases every thing even our memories..I will come to the real question who is wise jesus or solomon.and in whom do I have to belive.please comment

Answer #1

Jesus was/is perfect (God among us) - Solomon, merely a man, sinful in nature, not equipped to be all-wise.

Answer #2

“Reading and understanding biblical truth will make you wise. God gave Solomon wisdom as he requested but became unwise in his pursuits of selfish ambition. Christ on the other hand did the ‘will of the Father who sent Me’. Jesus is ultimately wise.”

I think that was well-said!!!

Plus, the quotes you have for Solomon must be read in context. Solomon fell into the same trap as his father (King David): women. Ecclesiastes is a warning to those who desire earthly things. It is the story of his life, having wisdom but still not being satisfied. If you read the whole book, this is what he says at the end:

The conclusion, when all has been heard, {is:} fear God and keep His commandments, because this {applies to} every person.
For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil.

Jesus says this too. ;) Jesus, being omnipotent and omniscient, without sin and fully God, is clearly wiser than Solomon. But the “contradictions” are simply an issue of context. Hope that helps!

Yes, King Solomon was very wise, as God gave him the wisdom. 1Kings 3 verse 5 beginning,” At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said,”Ask, What shall I give you?’. And Solomon said, You have shown great mercy to your servant David, my father, because he walked in Your truth, in righteousness and uprightness of heart with You; You have continued this great kindness to him, and You have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day. Now, O Lord my God, You have made Your servant king instead of my father David, but I am a little child; I do not know how to go out or come in. And Your servant is in the midst of Your people whom You have chosen, a great people, too numerous to be numbered or counted. (here it is) Therefore give Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people that I may discern good and evil. For who is able to judge this people of Yours? And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. Then God said to him,’ Because you have asked this thing and have not asked for long life for yourself, nor have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice, behold I have done according to your words; see I have given you a wise and understaning heart. so that there has been no one like you before you, nor shall any like you arise after you. Chapter 11 paints a much bleeker picture of one not so wise. He had many foreign wives whom God forbid the children of Israel to intermarry. (Verses 1-4). Then he engaged in idol worship.(Verses 5-7). Unrepentant Solomon offered sacrifices to these gods of his wives. As a result, God said,(verse 11)”Because you have done this, and have not kept My covenant and My statutes, which I have commanded you, I will surely tear the kingdom away from you and give it to your servant.” This doesn’t sound too wise to me does it to you? Jesus, Immanuel (God with us), was the only Person to live a sinless life. 2Corinthians5 verse 21,” For He (The Father) made Him (Jesus) who knew NO sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. In Acts 4 Peter and John addressing the priests, elders and scribes said,” Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Reading and understanding biblical truth will make you wise. God gave Solomon wisdom as he requested but became unwise in his pursuits of selfish ambition. Christ on the other hand did the “will of the Father who sent Me”. Jesus is ultimately wise.

Answer #4

Jesus is wise. He hear’s our prayer’s and he love’s everyone on Earth. He doesn’t tell people to do drug’s and bad thing’s. People choose their own fate not Jesus. Well by fate I mean what we do on Earth. So well um… I guess that’s all I can say. He help’s people who are sick and hurt. He forgive’s thing’s that need to be forgiven. So now I must go. Bye!

Answer #5

Neither Solomon nor Jesus are wise, only wise is the Almighty. Ofcouse whatever the wisdom they had it was only given to them by the almighty. At the last I must say that there was never a conflict in reality between Solomon and Jesus. They (all the prophets are brother to each other) never had conflict on any subject. Wahtever the instructions time to time had come on them they only propogated to us.They all are pious and unsinfu.
