Where can I go for help for my dog?

My dog, Echo, started to be in heat a few days before Valentines Day. Whenever she needs to go outside to use the restroom/play, we go with her, and put a diaper on her if she isn’t using the restroom. Well, both my Mom and I were busy. My grandpa let her out, thinking no dogs would get to her, since “he saw none”. I got done with my shower and noticed Echo wasn’t inside, and I went outside, and found a dog stuck inside of her. I had a vet schedual on March 31st to have her spayed/neutered. I don’t know which is which nowadays. So, I’m wondering, if she becomes pregnant, can they still do the procedure, even though she will be one month into pregnancy? What will they do? I would call and ask, but they are closed, and I’m dieing to know. :(

P.S.. Sorry for all the details. I just didn’t want to be scolded for not “looking after” my dog well till I got her fixed.

If you were getting her spayed anyway, just tell the vet that she may be pregnant. They can still do the operation. My mom had her dog spayed for that very reason bc she was possibly pregnant and that breed of dog it is very dangerous every time they have puppies. So just give them a heads up that she may be pregnant and all is good.

Her licking should be normal as she is in heat which is why she will be licking more, to keep her clean and t clean up the blood =) x

Answer #3

There is an “after” pill for dogs, too…Call the Vet and see if you can get youd in for that.

If you wait, and she is pregnant, you might have to scout around for a Vet who will spay a pregnant dogs. Some won’t do it, because there are so many more blood vessels to clamp off…and a more complicated surgery, than normal.

They can do the procedure. Many vets perform pediatric s/n exactly for this reason. There is no need to let them go into heat. Good luck.

Also, it seems like her vagina is irritated. She keeps licking it and going nuts over it. I know dogs normally do that, but this is different. What can I do for her? I feel so bad for her..
