When should I start tanning if I want to be tanned for prom?

I’ve never “fake” tanned before. I’m don’t want to do spray tan. But like in a tanning bed or booth. Whatever. But I want to get nice and tanned (NOT orange) for May 29th, which is prom. I don’t wanna be pale. But I’m not really sure when I should start tanning. Anyone got any advice for someone who tans pretty easily, but has never done fake tanning before. Advice please??

I’m here to promote cancer, but meh. If you’ve ever heard of a product called ‘Reef’ it’s a sun-tanning oil, you can buy it in ranges, like there’s no spf (brown lid) spf 15 (blue lid) and there might be another one I’m not sure. it costs 10$ in australia, but I’m not sure if it sells at other places. you pretty much just want oil in any format, but preferably buy an oil that is FOR tanning. don’t stay out too long because you can get results in under 30minutes sometimes… so just go out one day with oil stuff on, and then build from there. do it too much and your skin will age quickly, look leathery, get 50million moles and dots.

uhmm first off, thanks for the cancer 101 thing, but clearly I said I’ve never done it before and was only doing it for tanning, so any further advice, please DONT tell me imma get cancer, kthanks

remember that as well as the sun, tanning beds/booths also cause skin cancer and prematurely age your skin and fce so it would be safer to fake tan as for when to tan, a few days before prom so you have a bit of time to fix it up if soemthing goes wrong
