What wouldve happened if we had gotten caught?

ok well my friend and I were at this store and she stole some stuff but I knew she had and as we were leaving this store person came up and asked about the make up she took so we said we didnt get it so she asked where we set it so we said in the candy aisle and she told us to show her so we took her there but of course there was no makeup so I said that I remembered it was a bag of candy we had set there and we had put the makeup back on the way out so she asked us to empty our pockets so I did but my friend said it was her right to decline so they said if we had nothing to hide that she should and they pointed at the bulge in her inner pocket so she opened it and showed them a bag of mushrooms which we said we bought at another store so then we asked if we could leave and they said yes but you could tell they didnt believe us.so my question is what would have happened to us if we got caught we’re both 15 and we live in canada would we have gotten a criminal record forever or would they just kick us out of the store and if we did get a criminal record would it be cleared when we turned 18 and would they have called our parents or anything?
