What is the best way to benefit from massages?

I’ve had several massages, all after and before different things, and now wonder if there’s any way to best reap the rewards… Should I eat something prior, 1-2 hrs? Is an empty stomach preferred? Should I sleep after it or eat a healthy meal? Etc. Thanks.

Water is the best thing. When you get a massage it helps flush out your toxins that build up in your muscles. A lot of tension comes from those toxins and when the tension is worked out the toxins need to be flushed out. So I would advise to drink water before and after you have a massage.
