Is my computer infected with a virus? HELP!?

I’m very computer savvy and know all the steps to take to not get any sort of virus on my computer. I run full computer scans DAILY with avg and delete anything that happens to come up (almost NEVER). Suddenly today, I was browsing Google and I clicked CLEARLY MARKED link to Yahoo! Answers. I clicked it but was very abruptly redirected to another page. This has never happened before (by the way I am using Safari). Then, I opened antoher page to check my email. Suddenly a new window opened with one of those “You’re the millionth visitor and you’ve won a free computer!” ads. I went down the the tabs at the bottom of the page and did Right Click>Close. Now I’m scanning with AVG. It’s found a bunch of tracking cookie’s on my dad’s account…any idea what is wrong with my computer, if it could be a tracking cookie causing this, where I would even get a tracking cookie, and how to cure my computer? Please help. Thanks very much in advance!

well dude I had a virus on sunday for like 30 min and I used dr.web cure it free download then it downloads it as a random name so the virus doesnt detect it. after you downloaded dr.web cure it . restart your computer but when you restart start pressing f8 and the computer will go into safe mode then just open dr.web cure it and scan your pc and it removes the virus easy dude. but remember use dr.web cure it only in safe mode alright good luck dude.

Safari is kinda… bad. Use Opera. It has a turbo feature and isn’t as terrible.

Answer #3

I am computer savvy. I’m 13 and I know full HTML coding. 99% of the time I can figure out what virus I have an can remove it. And to that last person who most apparetly can’t read, I said I didn’t want to use Firefox because bow dreadfully slow it is.

Answer #4

Did you even bother to read what the others just said? Tracking cookies are 99.9% of the time harmless. You got a pop-up and now are freaking out that you have a virus? Get Mozilla, you won’t have any pop-ups so you won’t have to worry.

Answer #5

I am not going to download anything. AVG was number one on a list of best antivirus programs. Also I can’t use firefox because ITS TOO SLOWW!!! Btw this is the same person who wrote the question. Can I please get some help?!
