its a halogen bulb with extra xenon gas in it to give it the nice bright light... it gives you a better visibility on the road.. I use 55W which is typical to natural sunlight, but my nightbreakers are just a tad over and lil bit brighter than that..
have you ever changed a car bulb? its exactly that, take your old standard yellowish bulbs out and replace with xenon bulbs...
find out what bulbs your cars takes at the front: mine are H1 (high beam), H4 (main beam) and 501 (side lights)
once you have your nice new bulbs (and I should point out: do not touch the main part of the bulb on your new xenons) take out your old ones from both sets of headlights and replace with your xenon ones. and thats it, your done.

You should ideally go for E marked products and make sure the outer cover is UV-CTU ultraviolet quartz glass which protects the plastic lens from any damage before it is actually used.

There just light bulbs generally used on cars for the headlights, they last long and burn cooler than some. There used in flashlights sometimes also.
They are replacement bulbs for the stock ones. They are brighter and look bluish. I don't like them but to each there own.
