“I would not recommend the next President of the United States engage in talks with Iran at the Presidential level. “

The reason Kissinger doesn’t recommend direct talks with the president of Iran, is because we can’t be sure he’s actually the power center of Iran. If we talk with the president and agree on something, when the Ayatollah can influence things in a different direction, such talks are useless, and the US would be holding an empty sack.

What Obama has consistently said is, he would be prepared to have direct contact with Iran at whatever level would be productive.

Answer #5

I thought it was amazing! When McCain said he wants to create alternate energy, when he actually voted 23 times against it! Also When he pointed out Obama’s “fault” on saying he would attack a country out loud when Obama said nothing like that! Also I loved it when Obama said th war was mis-managed and that we are spending billions of $’s a MONTH!!! When the Iraquies have their own money.

Answer #6

Answer #7

Overall just a rehash - was surprised when Obama said Henry Kissinger agreed with his view, ‘ I will meet with Iranian leaders with no preconditions’, when Kissinger had not agreed.

Today: Henry Kissinger believes Barack Obama misstated his views on diplomacy with US adversaries and is not happy about being mischaracterized. He says: “Senator McCain is right. I would not recommend the next President of the United States engage in talks with Iran at the Presidential level.

Interesting that McCain immediately flew back to Washington to work on a bill to ease this economic crisis - Obama went to campaign.
