What are the differences between apartments, condos, penthouse?

What are the differences between apartments, condos, penthouse? And like other fancy apartments that have diff names. Please name them and explain what they are

you rent apartments…they usually arent that nice but some are…condos you pay for so they are yours and you have a mortgage…they are veyr nice like two three story. penthouses are what millionaires live in …like the top of a newyork city building…a very very nice apartment that they bought.

You can rent condos too. An apartment is usually next to other apartments with a hallway or similar in front of the front door, like hotel rooms. Condos open up to the outdoors and have a walkway and maybe plants, but they’re still significantly smaller than a house. They might be right next to other condos or separate but in the same general area as them. A penthouse is a nice apartment on the top floor.

But what’s more confusing is that technically blueeyed is right: apartment = rent, condo = own. But I hear about people renting condos from their owners all the time.
