visa debit cards

how old do you have to be to carry a visa debot cards.

Answer #1

I meant to apply for one as the primary holder. Like if a 15-year-old applied for one, they would decline them right away, without a parent of course. But usually when someone hits 18-years-old they get accepted. I don’t have one either, they scare me, but I used to work for a company and dealt with them, it’s all a huge scam.

Answer #2

Yeah I agree with the scam part, I’ve done the math, not worth it.

Anyways yes to be primary you need to be 18, although some banks will allow 16 if you are a full-time student with a job.

Answer #3

Not specifically Steph, anyone can have one if their parents open as co-owner, basically a 3 year old COULD have one, if parents wanted said 3 year old TOO have one. It depends really. I refuse to have a debit/credit card, too much temptation.

Answer #4

To have a bank card, whenever you open a bank account. But to get a credit card you have to be an ‘adult’ which in most places is 18-years-old.

Answer #5

A bank will not give anyone under the age of 18 sole ownership of a checking accout or a Visa Debit Card or Credit Card. It is illegal to sign a binding contract with a minor. I have worked in bankin a long time and there was a case where a young lady go a card and was overdrawn about 6000.00 dollars, We the bank lost the case because the mother fought it and we should have never given the minor the card. Untill 18 you will need a custidion to sign for you.

Answer #6

whenever you decide to open up a bank account
