Do you want to get FAT, or just gain weight? If you want to gain weight then I suggest adding protein and working out. If you want to get fat, ruin your future AND ruin your health, follow what informer_220 said.

If you’re having a health issue that is causing you to lose weight, such as hyperthyroid, then yes, you could use pediasure. All that is, is basically another meal in a can. Don’t listen to informer, those types of things will clog your veins and put you on a fast track to diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and many many other health issues.

As long as you increase your calories, you will gain weight. Eating more calories than your body burns, sends those excess calories into your glycogen stores where it will turn into fat. The way it won’t turn to fat, is if you work out and use the glycogen to repair the muscles after a workout.

While, I do believe in the IIFYM Crew (If it Fits Your Macronutrients), the best foods I eat to gain weight are:

Meat: Fish - high Omega-3 fat content which helps protect organs and prevent clotting in the heart. Beef - Has a high saturated fat content which is excellent for maintaining proper hormone function. (sat. fat = more sex drive) Chicken - Lots of protein, used for providing the muscle with fuel to repair itself. Eggs - Although the yolks are high in fat, most of this fat is healthy and contains almost 3,000mg of BCAA’s which is goof for health and muscle.

Grains: Whole Wheat Pasta - Although high in carbs, the carbs are slow-digesting so they keep you feeling fuller longer and are good sources of fiber. Brown Rice - Brown rice has slow-digesting carbs and is good for fiber as well. White rice has fast-digesting carbs so you’ll feel hungry quicker.

Vegetables: Broccoli/Asparagus - These two vegetables contain almost 3-5g of fiber for every cup or two. These two also absorb a lot of water, thus making them denser. The type of fiber in here is soluble fiber, meaning it absorbs water particle sin the body which is good for regulating your bowels and prevents constipation, which is what happens when you eat lots of protein and little fiber. Carrots/Garlic/Onion - In addition to supporting the immune system, carrots and garlic contain BCAA’s (Branch Chain Amino Acids) that help preserve muscle in the body and also provide health benefits. Garlic is also helpful in sustaining a good level of cholesterol, preferably in lowering LDL (Low-Density Lipoprotein) or bad cholesterol and raising HDL cholesterol.

Milk and cheeses are good sources of slow-digesting carbs and protein. The caseinate (slow-digesting protein) is good at night because your body will have a constant supply of amino acids to eat and regulate the production of GH (Growth Hormone) and also contains Melatonin, a hormone that helps us sleep better at night.

Try to get 1-1.5g of protein per pound of bodyweight, 2-3g of carbs per pound, and around 0.3-0.5g of fat per pound of bodyweight to regulate proper function. Having low-fat is okay, but then you’ll have to increase other nutrients to compensate for the loss of fat. Also, you’ll probably feel crappy with low-fat since hormones won’t function as well (low sex drive, mood swings, loss of appetite), etc.

You can eat anything you want really as long as it fits your daily required nutrient and caloric intake. Also, just so you know, it’s been scientifically proven that it doesn’t matter how many times you eat in a day. As long as your body gets the nutrients before you go to sleep, you’ll still gain/maintain/lose weight. So really, it doesn’t matter if you eat 20 times or 2 times a day, if you get the number you need, you’re fine.
