Trouble with my dad

Last year my dad cheated on my mum and left us. He didnt abandon us..he pays and everything, but I still havent really talked to him since then. He comes to my house when my moms at work sometimes for my sister, but I have only exchanged minimal words with him over the year. at first he tried talking to me..but now doesnt really try. I was mad at him and didnt wanna talk to him..but now its been bringing me down lately and I dont no what to do. I barely know him now really so its weird even seeing him in my house where he used to live.

You dont seem to have a strong relationship atm but if you try explaining to him that it feels as though he makes no effort with you anymore and that you miss being about to talk to him. He probably stopped making the effort if you didnt want to speak to him in the first place. So next time you see him perhaps if you try talking to him, sound interested in him ask what hes been doing lately, ask if you could do more together, your relationship could pick up from there. I no it would be hard for you after what he did but you should try forgive and forget. Best of luck x

Just try talking to him. Sit down with him when you see him. Tell him what you’re thinking. It may sound hard but you need to. You really do :)

I come from a simular situation. my advice would to be simply start by saying hello when he arrives and asking how he is. then eventually build up to larger convos. I really do hope everthing works out for you.
