Usually it’s in a bar…and it will be between 4-9 pm, earlier than they get busy, in an attempt to bring in customers and get them to drink more and stay for the whole night.

yh thos answers are true but it can also mean happy hr at a local fast food place where drinks are at a lower price than usual like 2-4pm 1/2 off drinks

Happy hour in Australia is only between 4pm - 6pm and is on a Friday after work and most large companies or corporations pay for the drinks as staffs are not permitted to consume alcohol on work premises so pubs and hotels venues are used.

At all the places I know its about 4-5pm but it can vary. When I was at high school we used to go for cocktails after school on a friday afternoon. Good times!
