What are your thoughts about people cutting themselves?

Answer #1

Well, i know they are depressed, probably a tormented soul

Answer #2

I understand it but I think it’s really such a stupid thing to do. Your mutalating your body and not solving a damn thing. There are just so many healthier alternatives to dealing with depression.

Answer #3

Personally I have done it and continue to do it. I do it because of depression and things happening in my life. I dont know if its a good or bad thing

Answer #4

I don’t judge. I know what it’s like.

Answer #5

They are hurting….lonely…..desparately need to find better ways to cope…..professional help most often needed

Answer #6

I mean you cuting yourself in solving anything all the “depression and things happening in your life “is still gonna happen. Why don’t you try to do something about that instead?

Answer #7

It’s up to you

Answer #8

Because I find it my way to cope and to feel. i dont now what else I could do to fix it.

Answer #9

Having been there myself, I can understand what the person must feel, but it is an entirely stupid act that ultimately does nothing but mutilate your body. I sincerely wish people with this problem seek help and find the peace they need.

Answer #10

What your doing now isn’t “fixing “anything but ok.

Answer #11

i agree with harley it is understandable but such an upsetting thing ,instead of self harming you should sort your head out by say getting a new hobby, painting or jogging;ect ,

Answer #12

Depends on their reasons for doing so.

Answer #13

i feel that it is some ppls way of asking for help..ppl do it to take away there pain of somthing else even if it is only for a few mins its not a good thing…but i also think ppl need to see the warning signs more then they do…

Answer #14

I think everyone has their own opinion. From continued exerience I find it takes my mind of other things. Im aware of the posibilty of injury and I have only been hospitalized once

Answer #15

i believe many people end up doing it for a sense of control, but there are many different reason why they end up doing it. some people do it because it’s a cry for help and other’s might be doing it for attention. they should really know that whatever the problem is and whatever they are dealing with it’s still going to be there. you have to face the problem and fix it. people need to realize that there are people out there that really do care. and they should seek some help and use better coping skills. I know from experience !

Answer #16

I mean for one thing its dumb. Another people could juss be seeking or trying to get attention for no reason I mean if your depressed what the fvck is cutting yourslef going tto do for you?? That’s what the question should be. For example there’s this girl named Alexis in my gym class and people always are like ess she’s a skkannk but she is she came to school with a hickie on her neck like wtf you dumb hoooeee and now she wants people. To feel sorry for her and noone does the dumb girl cutt her slef her face arms and she wrote well carved into herslef “help me” on her arm and stomach I mean if your that desperate tell the consuoler or someone.

Answer #17

And my point was why do that your fuvcking up your body.

Answer #18

I agree, unfortunately, a cutter is someone who has not developed healthy ways to handle stress, and cutting (also referred to as self-harm) does give some temporary relief. Some trauma in their past short circuited the normal pathways that a healthy brain would use to get rid of the stress. . Psychotherapy is a very good tool for helping cutters to gain control over the self-harm, hopefully freeing them for good, but it takes time. Famous self-harmers who have publicly discussed it include Fionna Apple, Darrell Hammond, Angelina Jolie, and Johnny Depp.
