Does anyone thinks it's wrong to freak out if you see your rapist for the first time since he raped you?

Or is it just a case of the crazies?

Answer #1

of course it’s not wrong… you have a right to get freaked out!

Answer #2

It’s completely normal to act irrationally around someone who has violated you. You are going through therapy, I hope?

Answer #3

Uhm, no? You got raped by this guy, it’s you’re not terrible to freakout upon seeing him.

Answer #4

Take out the “it’s” it doesnt belong there. ;)

Answer #5

No it is not wrong at all! I have had an experience like that when I was three and my ‘dad’ didn’t know and made ‘him’ take me to the bathroom to wash my hands and I freaked out. It is a very emotional thing and you will hopefully be able to eventually move on. You most likely won’t be able to forget, because it was a very traumatic experience for you.

Answer #6

No, it’s not wrong in the slightest way. Being raped by someone is a VERY traumatic thing to go through. You have every right and every reason to freak out. It is important to take care of yourself, though, so I also do hope that you’re getting help for this and that you came forward about it.

Answer #7

It is the total opposite. If someone rapes you, and see that person; your emotions and feelings are completely normal…Don’t ever think that’s wrong. Someone has forced you to do something that you didn’t want to do, you have every right to freak out!!

Answer #8

I agree!

Answer #9

no, I haven’t. I just seen him for the first time in 4 years since it happened…he goes to my new school…

Answer #10

Well four years is a lot of healing time. You went four years without seeing him and then suddenly he’s there, it’s not wrong to freak out about that, all the scariness of the whole situation probably came back to you.

Answer #11

thanks(:

Answer #12

Completely normally, but the question is: is it possible to cope with the problems, the feelings of it, etc., alone? Wouldn’t it be much easer to talk about this to someone who is trust-worthy? Otherwise it might become too overwhelming without someone able to help. The Bible says “2 are better than one”(Eclesiastes 4:9,12).
