The Quran?

I recently downloaded an English translation of the Quran. I am interesting in reading and understanding it, but I don’t know much about it. What religion(s) believe in the words of the Quran? What is the Quran? Basically, anyone who believes in the Quran or anyone who has read it, can you fill me in a little? Thanks. :)

as you have been told by others, The Quran is the holy book of Muslims. It was reported by the angel Gabriel to the prophet muhammed ( P.U.H) from around 1400 year but on intervals. It also guides us to the right way to live a good life without any mistakes or sins but there is no ideal human on the planet of earth. The Quran tells us to live in peace without wars but we may be forced to war for defending our self and our land not for attacking any innocent or unarmed people and anyone does except that will be cosidered out of quarn rules and then called a terrorist. by the our greeting is the peace “ peace upon you “ ( Al sallamo allaykom ). I hope I could answer you even with the little. Good luck

the quran is the muslim book of god it was written around the 1400’s I believe. it contains the story of muhammed the messenger of god, and his teachings. it also mentions the christian son of god jesus and his deciples it also contains the rules a pure muslim must live by, how he must pray etc.

its actually more truthful than the bible but then again its just a book, written by humans, just like the bible…

Answer #3

well muslims book is quraan just as christians book is the bible. it has the words of god in it and it tells us what we should do and what we shouldnt. it is in the language ARABIC. all muslims dont talk in arabic. muslims believe that the quraan is very important because it has the words of god, the gods name is ALLAH.

if you need any more information on islam then fun mail me because I am a muslim myslef

Answer #4

Well I actually have a muslim friend, which is the religion that studies the Quaran, he said that to actually understand it you have to be able to read it in the original language

Answer #5

Well the Qur’an (Koran for some) as everyone has said is the Islamic holy text. Mind you informer has his last statement is not entirely true as the Qur’an does not provide all the rituals of the Muslim religion (though it does give the basic pillars). The Hadith however does give the rituals of Muhammad himself (who was seen as the closest thing to god which is why other Muslims attempt to do everything he did as they want to be as close to god as possible even if it wasnt in the Qur’an) Lastly the Qur’an does reference both the old and new testament as it sees Jesus as just another prophet and not the son of god. Also please do not take in Informers opinion that the Qur’an is more truthful as it is up to you to decide what you wish to believe in (mind you I am agnostic and am not affiliated with any specific religious group).

the quran talks about things the bible doesnt and accepts homosexuality, it also says its god that made a person a homosexual, not like the bible…

im an anti theist by the way, but I’ve had my share of reading religious stuff so I know what im talking about

Answer #7

Im a christian and I read about 3/4 of the Quran, it the Holy book for Islam, it was reveiled to the Prophet Mohammed (s.a.w) by the angel Gabriel, the same angel who annonced to Marie about the birth of her son the Messiah Jesus,(Isa s.a). Muslims believe that the orginal arabic Quran is the litterale word of God reveiled to Mohammad (s.a.w) to tell all of humanity the good news for the believers.
