How can I stop my self from self-harming and suicidal thoughts?

How would i tell someone about it and i recently came out of counselling but i think i should go back in but how would i ask and would i get the same person? sorry if that is too much!

Instead of cutting draw something on your arm

talk to someone. call the hotline. join a couseling group. write how you feel. think positive!

going with drawing something on your arm, draw your favorite animal, like where you usually cut. If you cut it then it dies, you dont want your favorite animal to die, and the people around you that love and care about dont want you to harm yourself either. Drawing the animal makes you think about it more before you do it. Hope that helps!(:

I was like that too. Do something you love, talk with friends, go out and have fun. Whenever you start thinking about self harming just play your favourite songs, start dancing..go wild. Just distract yourself. And about the suicidal thoughts..try watching ‘Archie’s final project’. It saved my life.

Try getting a pet that you love and spend time with it… Feed it and raise it. Maybe one thats in need of help. A blind dog or one along those lines. One that needs help and has no chance of getting adopted or rescued.

Reading the bible helps. And praying scriptures talk about pouring out your heart in prayer. Read psalms 55:22 and 1peter 5:6and 7. Always helps me. Its never to much with him.

Well, if you’re still in school join a club or sport or something. I joined band and I LITERALLY have no time to myself, so now I don’t think about that stuff anymore. Just keep yourself busy.

Well a lot of these people have good ideas but I use to be very susidal and what helped me was looking past all that darkness. You gatta rember pain is only temporary, physical or emotional. Everything heals. Something that might help is the suside butterfly. Any time you want to hurt yourself draw a butterfly where you’d cut or hit. Now pretend its real so that if u hurt yourself the butterfly dies. You can draw as many as you need but if you hurt one your hurt hem all. You may not scrub off the butterfly, only let it fade away. If you do that it lives, if you don’t it dies. Its meant to represent you, something beautiful and incent. Something that dossen’t deserve to be hurt. I hope it helps you like it has many others.

i used to get them alot!! i started councerling and they helped me understand why i did it, think of you self in an invisable bubble and when things get too much for you the bubble filles up untill you can’t cope well the cutting is basically helping you get out of tht bubble and the thoughts well thats because everything is too much for you, i stopped it all and it has helped alot x
