You have to correct your cat and keep them seperated. When ever he goes near the chickens, spray him with a bottle of water, or pick him up and walk him away from them and dont let him near them. Its going to take some repetition and time, but eventually he will learn he is not to go near them. In the meantime make sure they are protected by a fence or something the cat can not easily get into.
