Usually stress and the lack of your brain wanting to shut off. I agree with the girl who said to see a doctor. They can usually pin-point what the problem is and help you get the sleep you need. You need at least 7 hours of sleep every night. And if you don't want to see a doctor, then try to figure out alternatives to solve your problem. Maybe you're eating to late, or maybe you have too much energy and you need to work it off during the day? Your mind needs to go into REM and stay in REM. Good luck
Maybe u have anxiety issues, its best to talk with ur doc about things u cud do to help u stay asleep
