When should i start applying for colleges and universities?

Usually people apply the end of their junior year or the beginning of their senior year. Remember to apply to several, even if they werent your first choice so if you get denied for one you want you have back up plan.

Your Junior year is the year to start looking into colleges and applying for scholarships and looking into what colleges you would like to attend. Just check out all the colleges that you like admissions pages and possibly schedule campus visits over summer break between Junior and Senior or when you have time and if the college allows it. As soon as you decide which ones you like the most start applying.

Early applications will be due around november of next year (2011) and regular applications will have deadlines from december (2011) - march(2012) assuming you want to start in the fall of 2012. So basically next year. Start applying over next summer, that way you’ll have completed your SATs, gotten your recommendation letters, looked up the schools you want to go to, sent in all the application stuff, so by the time your senior year rolls in you’ll be good to go.

oh, i forgot, if you want to apply to scholarships, you really need to start in the summer. Early applicants have an advantage.
