Do you think sports can help keep away kids from drugs, crimes and irresponsible sexual behaviour like prostitution. Especially here in Africa where poverty levels are high, many young people drop out of school and engage in such activities as early as 10 years of age. Most confess they are driven into these habits by circumstances, lack of something to do (to kill time) and economic situations.
No matter how you slice it, it's the choice they made - sports are definately a great idea for many reasons, socializing/filling idle time/staying physically fit,etc - but I believe the main keep-away factor is their family life/influence.
