Spirit by itself

I am a man who has been down a long road. I have pretty much kept my spirituality locked inside myself for fear of being isolated. I am a Pagen, or I do beleive in the spirit that is in everything around us. I have tried to include myself in the Native form of worship and I feel that it is close to what I have seen in early Celtic belief. My problem is that I can find no one to share my worship with. I am so much more relaxed with animals than I am with people and it shows in the way I interact with them, and they with me. But that is a lonley place to be when my mind and body long for sharing my way of being. How do I go about finding people like me? Miigwech J. D. A. (Dan)

I have something to add to my earlier piece of advice.

If someone is a true friend, they will not care what your beliefs are. Look at me, for example. I’m Pagan and my best friend is a Christain. They are totally contrasting religions yet we get along really well.

You can not be a “Christian” and love animals more then people. G-d put animals on the earth in service to men and women, not as equals. Sorry but this is not a responce to your question, just an answer that was provided earlier. G-d bless.

God loves and cares for animals just as much as people GOD MADE ANIMALS too. This answer bothers me so much! Animals are not to be of service to us, what are you thinking! Thats liek saying christians believe its okf or animals to be tested on with hair spray to be spray in their eyes to see if it butsn is ok because its service to us. NO. Go back to church read the bible a LOT more. Then come back. How disgusting.

I’m very similar to you, Sammy16. I’m Pagan, and more in tune with animals than people. My advice would be “just try and be more open around people (if you aren’t already) and they’ll accept you even if their beliefs are different . If you’re looking for people like you, I’m sure you’ll find some, just be friends with who you’re drawn to… “

I interact well with animals well to, sometimes better then people, because if you tell them something they don’t judge you for your belief or whatever the problem is. If you are finding it hard to find people like you don’t persist so much in search for them, if you are meant to meet then I am certain it will happen, but for now just make close friends with people at work or wherever your journey happens to take you. Tell them about how you fee and if they accept that great if not then are not true friends. If you don’t find anyone like you it doesn’t matter you make your religion a place to escape to in herd times a place of piece which is very hard ti find in a world as busy and destructive as ours.

I am like you I have never met anyone like you or me, sometimes it can be lonely sometimes nice to be able to sit there peaceful and calm in the middle of a forest or even you garden surrounded by what you love.

I didnt say I loved animals more than people…go read it again…BUT some days, yes, I somethimes think I like them more…lol (who doesnt feel like that somedays?people ARE tough to deal with sometimes) As far as loving and priorities, of coarse people are more important, but my point was very well made in the comment you made as to WHY somedays I like animals more than people! So, dont come out here judgeing whether someone is a Christian by a stupid comment made, you have NO clue who I am or what kind of life I live…how shallow! So, YES, I CAN be and AM a Christian!!! And you???…

I am a pagan/wiccan- I also have the gift of reaching out to animals. I am a solitary- I do not belong to a coven, my friends know my beliefs and I am accepted- but I understand the longing to find another of your beliefs. I dated a so called ‘wiccan’ female once- turned out she was ticked of at the cristian church and harboring a lot of anger in that direction- as it turns out she was closer to being ‘satanic’ so our beliefs really didn’t mesh together.

seek out those who wear the pentagram- they are all around you- nature will guide you if you relax and become more comfortable with who you are- I have been guided to many witches -none of them compatiible, but I was guided nevertheless.

Answer #8

Go to a local pagan/wiccan supply shop and talk to them. Odds are they have a list of groups in your area who are seeking new members. Also, try meetup. It’s a great way for people with fringe ideas to find similar others nearby.

Answer #9

While religious preferences can be an important part of friendship, it isn’t everything. When you meet new people, try not to dwell on religion and give people a chance to show you who they really are inside, apart from what they believe. You would probably have a lot in common with people of many different spiritual beliefs who were the same age or had similair hobbies and interests.

Answer #10

hello…I am a Christian and I honestly feel the same way as you in how you feel towards animals. They are so sweet and so non judgemental and accepting. I have ALWAYS said, even as a child, that I like animals more than most people…lol

As far as finding others who believe spiritually as you, I’m sorry I cant point you in a direction there, but I do understand the lonely feeling. I am a loner and always have been, even being a Christian.
