Answer #5

I personally would like to see you not have to take it at all or even start. I don’t want to offend you, but you seem so young to be on an anti-depressant. You hear so many bad things about them. Are you sure you “really need” this medication?

Answer #6

i got dizzy on this medcation. thats why i had to change meds.

Answer #7

Dude I’m prescribed it by a doctor, I have anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress disorder and I need a mood stablizer, this is my second medication. I was just on lexapro and they changed it, I didn’t ask for your opinion like this, I know what I need and don’t need. I went to a house for kids who are suicidal and all that stuff and lived there for a little bit. I HAVE to be on some sort of medication, you don’t know me or my life so please don’t say that.

Answer #8

I understand your reservations about antidepressants. Sometimes they are over-prescribed but on the other hand there are a lot of people who could benefit from them who don’t because the stigma of getting psychiatrist help or taking medications. You really don’t know Kayla’s situation. The thing about depression is that medication is often the quickest way to turn it around. Talk therapy can take years to work if ever. Finding the right medication and dosage can bring relief in weeks or months instead of years.

Answer #9

Thank you.

Answer #10

i’ve been on medication since i was 16 and everything she listed about why she takes this medication i take medication for 2 and for one she shouldn’t be explaining why she takes medication for its none of your business and a doctor wouldn’t be perscribing it if it wouldn’t benefit her in some way doctors don’t just hand it out and you dont know her personally and she has her own reasons why she takes medication

Answer #11

I went from ablify to leapro because of depression i tried killing myself and went to th suicdal place.. it was not fun at all. so i understand why you need thses meds. i hope they work for you.

Answer #12

Hey take it easy I was only asking and tried to be tactful about it. I’m not trying to judge you was just wondering. I happen to know what a terrible, traumatic ect childhood is like because I’ve been there and it was hard. You are so young, I hope things get better for ya and maybe one day you won’t need a med anymore. Please don’t think I was attacking you Kayla.

Answer #13

Onemandog, only a doctor can determine if what someone is going through is normal teen angst or something more serious. You seem to be belittling Kayla’s problems when you say, “I happen to know what a terrible, traumatic etc childhood is because I’ve been there and it was hard.” All adults were teens at one time. You don’t know if Kayla is going through what you went through or something else. I’m not trying to attack you either; I’m trying to be supportive of Kayla. Medication isn’t for everyone, many people don’t respond to medication and many people find the side effects are worse than the depression. She might find that this isn’t right for her but on the other hand it might greatly improve her life. It often comes down to trial and error.

Answer #14

I just hope she doesn’t have to take it all her life is all.

Answer #15

Well, thank you for you concern, I appreciate it. Trust me, I need whatever medication I end up sticking with. It doesn’t bother me, everyone gets help some how.

Answer #16

I just started Abilify last month, first day I fainted twice and that was awful. I went to have a pill and it seems to be working wonders, barely any side effects, just slow getting started in the morning. It’s not nearly as bad as the other anti-psychotics I have tried, and doesn’t give that ‘im not me’ feeling.

Answer #17

*half a pill

Answer #18

I understand. I’ve just seen and heard so many things about them that they scare me. I sincerley hope you have no problems and get better. Also thanks for seeing that I meant well.
