How can I get my room cooler?

For some reason the ventilation to the upstairs doesnt work and with the georgia heat, my room gets very stuffy and hot in the summer. Is there any device i can put in my room to cool it down and window units are not allowed in the convenants?

Answer #1

Fans, air conditioning At night open your windows and in the morning close them for the day, Then the next night re open them. It lets the cool air in during the night so in the day the place will be cooler.

Box fans that go in windows, if you can’t put them in you window, put them on a table of some sort. Opening windows, (make sure you window has a screen) bugs in your bed isn’t cool at all!!! :(

The cheapest way is to put a box fan in your window and cover the rest of the screen with plastic or cardboard or etc. That way fresh air will be pulled or pushed from outside or another room, which will be cooler than the stagnant air in your room that was getting warmer and warmer from you and all the appliances inside. This will be 100 times better at getting fresh air than merely opening a window and letting the air move at 0.1mph. Likewise don’t forget to block off the rest of the screen or the air will only move in circles instead of leaving your room.

Putting a fan on a table does absolutely nothing to make your room cooler. In fact the electricity used will make the room warmer. It will make YOU cooler if you blow it directly on you, because the hot air is still cooler than your 90+ degree skin. But if you blow it in a random direction you’re only heating your room up.
