Answer #1

Don’t take it. Things have an expiration date for a reason. You will only make yourself sicker.

Answer #2

Answer #5

Honestly i’ve taken medicine WAY more outdated and I was perfectly fine, thats not much out of date at all, if it were a liquid i’d be sketched out but if it’s a pill it should be fine, might not work as well though.

Answer #6

it is liquid o.o

so i should take a risk and take it?

Answer #7

Answer #8

How would that medicine help with a headache? i’m looking it up now and that doesn’t make any sense…

Answer #9

No I wouldn’t take it. I’ve taken expired pills and was fine but when i took expired liquid i got unbelieveably sick.

Answer #10

Answer #11

Please do not answer questions with links. Straight from the ToU, “Good advice is an answer to the question that, without any links, will help the person with their problem. Links are OK, however, you must answer the actual question.”

Answer #12

You dont have any advil or tylanol? What kind of headache is it? Like where is it hurting specifically?

Answer #13

Answer #14

When its written on the medicine that its expired,it means it should not be used anymore, why not buying new medicine : better option.

Answer #15

Answer #16

i’m broke, it 1am in the morning

so yeah this all i got with me for a while

Answer #17

well that help o.o

Answer #18

from what I know, expiry dates on medication indicate how long the product will work optimally for. I dont think it makes you sick. Im not completely certain on that though

Answer #19

Cause the only time ive heard of using it for headaches was cluster migrains. What your speaking of most likely is a tension headache. They can be caused by staying in the same position for to long. I’d sugest getting off the computer and lying down and watching tv or something.

Answer #20

I really wouldn’t take it. You either will get sick, or the medicine will not work. So either way, there would be no benefits of taking it. There is no, “well, it might not make me sick, and it might work.” It will either make you sick, or not work. So why take it. Try to go to sleep, when you wake up the headache might be gone. You can also, relax, and massage your face, neck, and temples, while drinking herbal tea or coffee. Caffeine constricts the blood vessels, which can lessen head pain. Be careful not to drink too much caffeine, this can trigger a migraine. Use an ice pack, or heating pad on the back of you neck.

Answer #21

lol sorry =(

Answer #22

One of the most common thing will happen and that is,it will be ineffective and you will probably get sick too,not neccessary though.

Answer #23

i havn’t really been on the computer that long, i been moving a lot

Answer #24

i took some expired medicine before and it worked O.O so there a chance it might work

Answer #25

Well, from what I heard it should only either make you sick or not work at all. It’s your choice whether you want to take it or not. I just hope you don’t get sick if you do. Good luck. :)

Answer #26

never take expired medicine, ever.. its really not worth the risk, however big or small that risk might be, its not worth it. medicine expires for a reason. you dont eat expired food and drink for a reason, and you certainly shouldnt take expired medicine

Answer #27

I think if you have a strong body, it won’t make you feel very sick. I would suggest not taking old medicine though because it won’t be as effective as it was when you first bought it. You should try and take some, but only a little, see how you feel, then in an hour or two, take it again and see how you feel. If it makes you sick, just throw it out.

Also, if it is an OTC medicine, make sure it’s not the ‘Sell By’ date because the actual expiration of a product and the selling date are two different things.

Also,@jaz, some cultures eat expired food. In our culture, we use expired milk specifically to make blinchiki. That’s what makes it so sweet. :D Just saying not all food is bad to eat and drink expired.

Answer #28

I asked the pharmacist I work with. Expiry dates are just an indication that it doesn’t work as well anymore. Up two three months after expiry date you should still be fine with using it, any later than that, throw it away.

Answer #29

Oh and there are also exceptions for medication. Ashtma medication can be used a lot longer after expiration date. Pills on the other hand (especially pain killers) should not be used longer than 3 months after expiration.

Answer #30

I do work at a homeless shelter/soup kitchen/food pantry. Products dont atcually expire until one week after the “sell by” or “best by” date.

Answer #31

Ok, that’s a steroid. Forget whether it is expired or not, you dont take steroids for headaches. Steroids dont do anything for headaches. And yeah, sugar pills have been known to help headaches too. It’s called the placebo effect. Seriously, this is why parents shouldnt allow medications to be floating around their children.

Answer #32

oh, and the reason it says take with food is because it can have unpleasant side effects on an empty stomach. It’s a strong medication. You dont just go popping steroids for no good reason.
