Im so not ready to move yet even though i have 3 years left. The school is doing a grade 10 planning course for the future and its scaring me. I have no idea were i want to go but i do have some ideas of what i want to be. Right now its just a lot of pressure to pick my major courses in grade 11 and plan for grade 12. Any advice on how to plan successfully and HELP ME NOT FREAK OUT!!!?
The schools basically just trying over you to think about what you want to be when you're older. They do pressure you a ton, I know. Just remember that you definitely don't have to go to Uni right after highschool. You can take time off school if you'd like. Just talk to guidance and ask what course you'll need for the job that you most want to get into, and take some of those, but also some for your second choice as well. You have to leave your options open. I know it's scary and schools usually do awful jobs at preparing you for jobs and such, but the final decision doesn't really need to be made right now. You're young, you have time.
One step at a time? Stop worrying about university or college. Concentrate on getting good grades for now. Whatever you take now really will make no difference in a U.S. college. So take stuff that interests you. The great thing about U.S. colleges is that your first two years you dont have to know what you'll be majoring in. And even after you pick a major, it doesnt mean that is what you'll be doing for the rest of your life. My friend was a religious studies major, she then became a counselor. You are way too young to be worrying. And I graduated high school at 16 and left for college. I survived. You'll be fine.
IM NOT! And I'm in my first year of Uni. It sucks for me right now. I feel pretty lonely most the time.
Im right along with you... I have two years left and I am so not ready!
loool cant agree more. and i have to add : just enjoy life as it is :)
