take it to the vet asap so they can figure out whats wrong with it. never just assume it will be ok or try to fix the problem yourself. take it to the vet imediently

Answer #5

There isn’t anything you can do but take it to the vet, or leave it alone and take the risk of it dying.

Answer #6

Rats have a very short life-span!! But duh take it to the vets

Answer #7

Honestly, in my opinion…I don’t think it’s worth vet costs to take the rat to the vet. It’s just a rat. Plus, they only live 1-2 years max. What’s the point?

Answer #8

IT’s a pet and if you take on a pet you also have the responsibility of providing it NOT ONLY with food, but also medical care.

To the poster. TAKE your rate to the VET, if you aren’t willing to do that, don’t buy another one if this one dies.

Answer #9

Thats the problem with taking it to the vet. it’s really expensive. Ive already taken him in twice and im only 16, its putting me in the hole… Hes to that age where he is going to die soon… I just want to know what i can do to make it a little easier on him….

Answer #10

Ive taken him whenever he’s sick. I dont want to see him in pain… But ive only got so much money. Im only 16. I love him… And i dont want another after him… Watching him live his life… I dont want another small animal… What living thing wants to spend its life in a cage… no matter how much u handle… being confined isnt a life…

Answer #11

If you couldnt afford him you shouldnt of had him, hard to believe vet bills are really expenive for just a rat…

Answer #12

How about trying the SPCA or a free animal clinic? I’m sure they will be willing to help you at a lower price.

Answer #13

I asked my mom about it and she said we dont have anything like that around here… i’m really trying…. He doesnt eat, or drink, so everything i give him is through an oral syringe…

Answer #14

What about phoning a vet? They are usually willing to help.

Answer #15

I didnt exactly plan on him getting sick. hes had a respitory infection, took him to vet, paid a crap ton for that, had to buy him medicine, Hes a rat… hes gone to the vet more than my dog!
