How old does a dog have to be to get a rabies shot?

how od does a dog have to be to receive its first rabie shot?

Answer #1

Puppies and kittens are usually vaccinated every 30 days from approximately 6-8 weeks until 4 to 6 months of age. Then the adult shot is given at least once a year.

I am a Veterinary Technicain, and that is what we do at the Hospital.

Answer #2

You can call your vet and ask. I believe they can get them when they are fairly young, often around the time they get fixed.
