Im am going on holiday for two weeks next week, i refuse to be on holiday and have a cold. I am already blowing my nose constantly and washing my hands but does anyone know of anything else i can do to get rid of it before next monday?
Colds have to run their course. If you don't take care of yourself you can make them last longer but beyond getting enough rest and eating right there isn't much you can do to make them shorter. You mainly treat symptoms. I like rinsing my sinuses with salt water with a neti pot or large syringe when I'm stopped up and gargling with salt water when I have a sore throat. If you are really sick you should see your doctor to rule out the flu, allergies, asthma or other upper respiratory infections. While there you can also get a prescription for stronger cough medicine than you can get over the counter. Hope you feel better soon!
Cold and flu medicine, staying warm and eating things like oranges and other fruit heaps to keep the vitamins in your body. You also might want to drink some Powerade or something to help with your energy.
Fluids, vitamin C, plenty of rest, chicken soup. I had the flu so bad once I went to the YMCA and sat in the sauna to sweat it out and it worked.
Plenty of rest and some cold medicine. I find hot tea or soup makes me feel a little better temporarily.
a long, hot, bath. and something i do is mix up jello then drink it while its still hot.
