What's the quickest way to get rid of a cold sore?

I have never had one before and it NEEDS to be gone in 2 days, how can I get rid of it?

Abreva does help. Another thing that helps is to avoid foods containing the amino acid arginine (nuts and chocolate) and get more of the amino acid lysine. Lysine is in fish, cheese, and most vegetables but for chasing away a cold sore your most dependable source will be supplements. You need to take a lot of lysine to have any effect. Take 5-10 gm (5,000=10,000 mg) every day.
