What qualifications do you get from each stage of education in the UK?

I’m so confused, I know you receive GCSEs from Secondary School, but what about A Levels, AS Levels, degrees and diplomas, where do you get each of these from college or university? :S

Answer #1

Typically A levels are done after GSCE’s. Some secondary schools have sixth forms, where you can stay on in school and study, or you can go to college and do. The AS Level is first year of the A level and can in itself be a qualification, the full A level is achieved at the end of the two years. I think depending on what you require you can split them.

Then come degrees and so on which are studied at University. Diplomas are the proverbial minefield and there lots of different levels, some are offered at secondary level.
