My friend jsut got her lip pierced & asked me if she could do that, i said probably not. When i told my piercer i was putting neosporn on my piercings she said i really shouldn't do that, sooo ? :s
No, if you look at the back of orajel it clearly states not to put it on open wounds - which a piercing is. You shouldnt be putting anything on a piercing other than warm sea salt water to clean it, anything else disturbes the healing process and can cause the piercing to reject. If shes in pain she needs to take ibuprofen (since its for pain and swelling) and eat ice chips.
You can use listerine it leans it and there was something else you can use i cant remember what it was called but i used two things to clean my tongue ring so im sure its the same with lip piercing.
Listerine will kill the germs, so Neosporin wasn't necessary. .. Orajel should be okay, since it is a pain reliever, but your friend can take some Ibuprofen instead if it's hurting that bad.
