Is there anything I can put on my bird's cage so that the cat won't go near it?

Answer #1

Well let me ask you this…why on earth would you trust a cat in the home around the bird cage from the get go?! My only advice is to either move that cat to a room where it is separated from the bird cage or move the bird cage into your bedroom so its safe from all!

Answer #2

Well the thing is we had the bird, but someone I knew was just going to leave the cat outside and not let it back in so I decided to take it in cause I wasn’t going to allow that to happen. Right now I have certain times of the day where I put the cat in my bedroom and let the bird fly around for a bit. We actually trained my poodle, which their insticts are to hunt birds, to be good to the bird and my bird can now sit on his back without his caring. But a cat with claws a such I woudn’t trust me training

first off I commend you for taking in that cat, personally I would have just called someone to pick it up since I am allergic to cats. You’re cool for giving that cat a home. I have to agree with you on the no trusting a cat near the bird especially if it hasnt been with the bird that long. Try what I said maybe keep the cat in one room or the bird cage in another just to keep the bird safe & sound.

Answer #5

yea I know the bird is my first priority.

Go to a pet store, I’ve seen things to buy that scare cats away before.

It will be some kind of frilly dangling material or I even think there’s Odor you can purchase that repels felines.
