Why don't we get points for someone liking our comments in the Status Updates section?

Because:

  1. The status update board brings little to no benefit in terms of traffic and was only put there to keep people from chatting on the question board;
  2. It would create the issue of people “liking” their friends content just to give them points on replies that were useless, rude, or badly written, which reflects poorly on us as a community;
  3. When the points were first integrated, you did get points for status “likes” and we had a huge problem with people spamming the status board just to see how many points they can get and, as the status board is not as highly moderated as the question board, we ended up with people on the top of the leaderboard who really didn’t deserve to be there, which caused a lot of animosity among the members.
