4 hour puppy who's mom is producing NO milk

I have a 4 hour puppy who’s mom is producing NO milk. All but 1 puppy dead. Can I give it skim milk. PLESE HELP NOW

If the mother is not producing milk, are you certain that she doesn’t have more pups still coming??

For an emergency, you can use a simple cows milk recepie…BUT, this is only until tomorrow when you can pick up regular puppy replacement milk at a Petco, or a feed store…You might have to go out and pick this up, but it’s all found a the grocery store…

1 can of evaporated milk (any brand)

1/3 can of water

1 tablespoon white corn syrup (any brand)

1 tablespoon of plain unsweetened yogurt (blend this in until smooth)

This pup needs to be fed every 2 hours, not 4…all night…all day…every night and day…unless…or until the mother’s milk comes in.

You have to be very careful feeding the pup, (feed it slow), you don’t want it inhaling the milk into it’s lungs.

No, don’t give the puppy cow’s milk, it can give the puppy diarrhea.

Call your vet for advice.

And then go to the store and get puppy formula and a milk bottle for puppies. Make sure the teat isn’t too big for the puppy’s mouth. Follow your vet’s advice carefully. Usually you’d have to feed the puppy every 4 hours, around the clock. Also make sure to keep the puppy warm.

You NEED TO CALL a 24/hr vet. You can find numbers online. Ask to speak to a technician. I can even find you some if you want. Just please do that right away.

I dont see why not, I’ve had this happen to me before, I just put half and half into a pacifier and I fed the runt of the litter.

or try cow’s milk. they’ve used that to save a giraffe in some zoo.
