Why do people think corn and such is good for cats and dogs?

I see these commercials where they talk about how much corn and greens is in the food they are advertising..Its ridiculous. Do people think that dogs and cats naturally eat corn and greens?

Answer #1

I see commercials like that, too, but they’re generally speaking about how lower-quality foods contain corn as the first ingredients … they warn against those foods. I’ve yet to see one that says corn is good.

Dogs and cats even though they prefer meat are actually omnivorous and will occassionally eat some form of vegetable that is another way they get their water. If you were to put your cat or dog on what is considered the raw food diet they would be eating raw carrots, raw meats, and string beans cooked or raw (most dogs won’t eat them raw cause they have a common smell of poisonous plants to them). An urban tale is that dogs and cats eat grass because their stomachs hurt. That isn’t the case they are eating it for another form of water and for vegetation.

omgee i hate those commercals they are so stupid! idk why they say it they are jusr stupid people wanting to make money by thinking they know what they are talking about

Answer #4

Ive seen ones that have corn and veggies falling everywhere around a dog and cat. They say how healthy and nutritious they’re food is for your animals because it has lean meat, greens and corn.

Answer #5

i heard that some dogs have alergys to corn grains stuff like that. i have seen types of alergetic attacks. its very vilolent. I give my dogs the cheap stuff. and i know they arnt alergic. but if where up to me i would feed them Blue Buffulo.

Answer #6

Well think about it..if they weren’t domestic and instead wild they wouldnt just be out in the wild munchin on some corn or green beans. Theyd be hunting for some meat, not veggies.

Answer #7

that is very true … but since they are dometicated, could they develope alergeies through the gerations?
