People always care what others think about them, having maners makes you seem like you care and aren’t sloppy.

Manners are simply another word for appropriate behavior. If you want to function in society, manners are important otherwise you wouldnt know how to behave. A functioning society creates implicit rules. We need these rules otherwise we wouldnt be able to live together.
Manners are generally respect for others. Who wants to sit across from somebody who’s smacking their lips, with chewed food falling off their chins….or how would you feel if you met a friend of friend, and your friend couldn’t be bothered to introduce you to them? Just two little examples of good manners…
