Can people who where born blind dream?

I think so, They just see things in their own way. The way that they’ve always thought all of those things looked. I don’t understand why you wouldn’t dream just because you’re blind.

Yes, they can. But they can just hear in their dream, because if they’ve been blind all their life they can’t picture a human being, or a plant, or building. They can touch it, and feel it and figure out its shape, but they don’t know what it looks like. Everything that you dream about are things that you have seen or heard in your life. Like, i wouldn’t have a dream about people speaking japanese or anything, because i don’t speak it. My dreams are in english. The people in my dreams are people i have met, seen, or associated with. You get it?

maybe they dream just about feelings and emotions and may see things that are not normal or don’t exist in world.

Hellen Keller seemed to see in her own way. I believe even God can give dreams to the blind person.

To contradict Halestorm’s theory (and confuse us all even more..sorry! xD) about not dreaming about things you don’t know, quite a few people have reported to dream in a language they don’t speak; but then you could be right because it may have been the person’s idea of what the language may be, created in their own mind based on similar things (for example dreamt in Spanish based on the sounds of the French and Russian languages, perhaps?). Also, (in my experience) if a ‘character’ in my dream is one which doesn’t exist and I have never met before, I have always found them to be a “presence”, rather than actually being there; as in they are interacting with me, leaving footprints..etc but I can never see them, because, well, I never have! I’m guessing that my mind based the character on people I know in real life, but was unable to invent a whole new face for a human being. Perhaps in the same way, people born with no vision create a “presence” based on their other senses (smell, touch, sound) for things that the eye would see, but maybe don’t quite “see” them? If that makes sense.. Interesting topic :) really good question.

People and Animals all dream regardless of sight. To see what and how someone born blind can perceive an image…Look at their art/drawings. I would imagine that because they learn through their other senses, that they are able to imagine what things look life (whilst awake), which they could draw on to reproduce in their dreams. Also, if you closely reflect on your own dreams, it’s quite often that you realise you can’t always see someone’s face; you just ‘know’ its them. You can ‘know’ someone whilst your awake by the way that they move etc. You don’t need to be always be able to see them to know who it is.
