Pelvic floor/kegel exercise

Hello, girls! Anyone master pelvic floor/kegel exercise? I just read about it and started to practice, but I always involuntarily hold my breath while tightening those muscles. I try to breathe normally, but I cannot. Any advice?

Answer #1

In addition to doing your kegels, try some pelvic floor elevations by drawing the muscle in and up. this will work the second action of the pelvic floor. More detailed description at www.hab-it.com Also, if you continue struggling withe getting it right ask a health care professional (doctor, nurse, physical therapist) to guide you through it. They can tell if you are performing it properly and can guide you in how to correct it.

Answer #2

It is instructed to tighten the muscles for 4 seconds. when I breathe out, the muscles relax too…either I hold my breath for 4 seconds or normally breathing but quickly relax the muscles…

Answer #3

just concerntrate on your breathing it might be easier to breath in as you clench the muscles and then breath out as you release them

Answer #4

Maybe after you practice a while doing them you’ll be able to breath normally… I just did them to see if I stopped breathing and had just never noticed it…but nope…I breath just fine doing them.
