Why do parents refuse to talk about sex with their children when they know for a fact that their children can learn it from others the bad way?

Also, if you are a parent or has a thought of being one someday, will you discuss it with your children?

Answer #1

maybe yours do but mine dont, lol my daddy trys bringing it up like every day haha but i love himmm

Answer #2

Oh yeah? lol. Sorry I should’ve asked “why most parents”. lol But good for you. :) Kudos to your dad! Let him know I said hi! lol

Answer #3

My parents talk about sex all the time! At dinner, when I’m watching T.V or something, when we’re driving in the car. And when I have guy-friends over they’re always making these really awkward sexual jokes and like, implying that we’re having sex even when we’re definitely NOT. when my boyfriend comes over it’s 100 times worse -.-

Answer #4

Yeah? Wow! I’m really surprised. There’s two of you now who got cool parents. Now I’m really envy. lol

Answer #5

My family kept it hush hush because of religious reasons. They figured the more exposed I was, the more I’d want to do it. The opposite happened really. My husband and I plan to be very open about sex with our children so they are prepared if and when things happen.

Answer #6

they think it’s akwaaaaaaard

Answer #7

hahah ur fine! and ill tell him u said hi

Answer #8

Thanks! (^^,)

Answer #9

It really, REALLY isn’t cool :( it makes my friends and I so uncomfortable. And my boyfriend even more so.

Answer #10

Very nice. I figured you’ll say that. lol I’ll definitely do the same thing too! :)

Answer #11

Yeah? But don’t you think its better coz at least you’re somehow educated about it compare to not really having an idea at all?

Answer #12

Why did you figure that? :)

Answer #13

Coz I’ve read your reply on my other question. We had the same experience, well almost with parents when it comes to sex conversation so I was thinking you’ll talk from experience and you did and I figured it out. lol I’m sorry I don’t really know what I’m talking about. Ignore it. I’m being weird again. lol

Answer #14

Haha, no you’re fine :) I was curious about how you knew about my situation. You’re good. No worries :) I’m miss open when it comes to sex and life in general, so no surprise that I’m easy to figure out…haha

Answer #15

Oh. Don’t get me wrong. I don’t have ESP or something. I guess it was just a wild guess. That’s all. lol

Answer #16

It’s awkward? I dont want to be talking to my parents about sex. Exactly what is a bad way to learn about sex? I mean apart from being physically assaulted. And I have no idea whether I’d talk to my kids or not (if i have kids)

Answer #17

Some parents are just scared that if they bring it up that their kids will go out and try it or their minds will start to generate ideas of sex. Their just worried about you. hehe
