Pain After Running?

so I just got back from jogging and I have pain in my leg, starting at my knee and going all the way down my leg (not including my foot). I did forget to stretch before running, so thats probably why but anyway what can I do to correct it, like should I do any specific stretches or anything?

Answer #1

weight lifting compliments running, what ever is sore after a run is an indicator that it is too weak

Answer #2

the pain is indicating that you are working the muscles that you haven’t used in awhile. if you take drugs to increase your activity then you will always be dependent on them to get you at the same level of energy. so don’t be disappointed when on a daily basis you are not as strong as you are without the drugs.

Answer #3

if you take ibprofin about a half hour before you run you cant really feel any pain… I had shin splints and a lot of leg pain after I would run then I started taking ibprofin before and I hardley ever get leg pain anymore

Answer #4

It depends on what your running on. If its just pavement, then try gravel once in a while, it may be harder but it soaks in your inertia rather then being shot back at you with pavement. basically your taking all your pressure back up your leg. that happpened to me when I ran on a sidewalk, so I switched to loose gravel. I do both but my legs dont hurt anymore. and if it really was your leg muscles being weak, it would be SORE, SORE is different from pain. trust me. its not your leg muscles.

eat, drink, and rest
