How do overcome my fear of singing in front of people besides my vocal coach?

Answer #1

ok, i say this from experience- no eye contact at first, it only makes you more nervous. if your on a stage, most of the time you cant see cuz your in the spotlight and theirs thousands of ppl so you dont recognize anyone. act like you dont care-dont think about it, it will just make you more nervous. pretend like your in your room, all alone, no one but you. and if that doesnt work, imagine your a superstar whoose worl famous and ppl are gonna like you no matter what you say/do. always works for me. in 6th grade, i froze on stage. my lip barely moved. in 7th, infinty times better! experience is the only way to get over it. goodluck!!;)

start slowly first like singing in front of your family and friends and then do bigger if you like me i can’t know the number of people i’ll be singing in front of so don’t ask if you want to know ask before your getting ready to leave don’t make eye contact if its possible with all the lighting and i know this is going to sound werid but when i’m singing in front of people i pretend their all trees it works cause i don’t see there faces anymore only tree trunks and leaves hope it helps!!goodluck!!

Like the people at my church do, when you’re ready to go on stage, inhale and slowly exhale, that should get rid of some nervousness. If you want to prevent laughing (if that happens when being stared at), look straight ahead, when you’re getting comfortable, start looking at random people.

The best thing to do first is practice with a few friends in a room with you to warm you up before you do the actual performance.

As long as you know your confident, you WILL pull it off.

I went on my first big stage last year playing infront of 15000 people as a supporting act as a lead singer what I did is focus towards something behind everyone that way it appears you are looking into the crowd but your not also try to move around while you sing on stage as it brings stage appearance up and it makes you feel less nervous. Let me know if this helped

Answer #5

i know from personal experience. first start singing in frint of your family. you know they will always give their support. then maybe after sing in front of a couple friends, while singing in front of them just don’t look directly at them, when your done ask what they think. eventually if you keep singing in front of people you’ll just start to feel more and more confident as people compliment you and tell you how good you are at singing. after a while you will be ble to look at a crowd and be able to sing in front of them no problem an you’ll feel much more confident about your singing performance. (: hope i helped
